Kalwai B - Mother's day, Teacher's day and Family day

Our Lady of Lourdes Ward, Kalwai B celebrated Mother's day, Teacher's day and Family day on 22nd September at 6:00 pm at Mr & Mrs John Linet D'Almeida’s home. The celebration started with prayer led by ward members and children and a short message by our parish priest Fr. Aquin Noronha.

The Gurkar Mr. Ronald Colaco welcomed all the guests and ward members for the celebration. He was congratulated for being elected as the Gurkar for the second term. There was cake cutting by teachers and mothers followed by distribution of the cake. In significance of family day blessed new crop was mixed with PAYASA and was given to all.

Thereafter, Vice President of PPC, Mr. Richard Gonsalves spoke on the impact of mothers and women in one’s lives and also their importance. Master Adrian D'souza gave a small speech on teachers and their importance in the upbringing. The Secretary of PPC, Mr. Issac Futardo, spoke a few words and explained to us about family life. Fr. Aquin delivered a small message on the importance of mothers and teachers in his life and prayed for us all.

The evening continued with children entertaining the gathering by singing songs. Mr. Alwyn Menezes and his band entertained us all with their melodious music. There was a skit performed by a few ward members which brought a smile on each ones faces and laughter in our hearts. This was followed by sumptuous dinner which was cooked by ward members and savoured by all. Mr. Julian D’souza compered the program.
