Parish Day Celebration 2023
The Parishioners of St. Dominic Church, Ashoknagar celebrated their parish day on 7th of May 2023. The celebration began with solemn Eucharistic celebration at 5 pm. presided over by Rev. Fr. Naveen Saldanha OP, Ex- Provincial, Province of India of the Order of Preachers and concelebrated by number of Dominican Priests.
The cultural programme commenced at 6.15 pm with live music and singing by our parishioners. Vice president Mr. Maxim Crasta welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Deborah Locker, Secretary of the parish council presented the report of the Parish for the year April 2022- March 2023.
The verity entertainment included performances from Parish children, Dances by youth, couples and ladies. “Unity in Diversity” displaying the culture of various states of India through dance was performed and it was greatly appreciated.
Fr. Daniel Veigas, parish priest and Prior of the Dominican Community in his message “We celebrate our Faith, Our Catholic Life” spoke words of appreciation and encouragement to the entire parish for their selfless service and participation. .
The evening ended on a high note with community meal for everyone. The meal was prepared by the parishioners themselves. There were around 600 parishioners present to witness this memorable evening.
