Ward day – Lourdes Ward, Kalwai B :

A thanksgiving mass was offered on 17th February 2019 by the members of 'our Lady of Lourdes' Kalwai B as we celebrated our feast in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes which falls on 11th February. The mass was celebrated by Fr Pratik Pereira .Various gifts like fruits, candles were offered during the mass. Members showed their devotion to our Lady by participating in large numbers for the mass and offertory.

In the evening the ward members gathered at the house of Sabina and Joseph Gonsalves at 6 pm for a get -together. The programme started with a beautiful devotional prayer songs and prayer. This was followed by unveiling of the statue of our Lady and venerated with incense by the parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Aquin Noronha. Mr. Ronald Colaco the Ward Gurksar. He read to the ward members the story of our Lady of Lourdes.

After the welcome dance the guests for the day Fr. Aquin, vice president Richard Gonsalves, secretary Isaac Furtado, the representatives of ward Linet Almeida, Cynthia Pinto along with SCC coordinator Euginia Pinto were welcomed to the dais by the Gurkar. The annual report was presented by Linet Almeida and annual accounts report was presented by Ronald Colaco. There students were felicitated for their excellence in academics and sports career. Fr.Aquin , Richard Gonsalves and Isaac Furtado gave a short speech on the service of the ward. Gurkar Ronald Colaco expressed his delight for the ward members and thanked them for their active participation.

Entertainment program included dances by children and a hilarious short play by the adults. Games were conducted by the MC Julian D’souza and prizes were distributed to the winners. Fr.Pratik, Fr.Francis, Fr.Sebastian, brothers of St.Dominic’ Friary, Sr.Jyoti and Sr.Angelo from St. Joseph convent joined us in our celebration. The fun and frolic filled day ended with a vote of thanks by Ronald Colaco and a sumptuous dinner prepared by the ward members.
