“Vanamahothsava” Celebrations, 20th July 2025

St. Dominic Church Catholic Sabha Ashoknagar Unit organised ‘Vanamahothsava’ on 20th July 2025, with the blessings and motivation of Parish Priest Fr. Daniel Veigas and with the guidance of the convener, Mr. Ronald Colaco, in aid of Riya Foundation, a charitable organization sheltering differently abled children. President William Sequeira welcomed the gathering. Fr. Elias D’souza, Parish Priest of Paladka Church graciously allowed school hall to be used for refreshments and afternoon lunch. Refreshments were also shared with the Riya foundation founders, Mr. Ashley Fernandes and Treasurer Ms. Keertana, children and staff of Riya foundation and proceeded to the site marked for Vanamahothsava. Catholic Sabha Ashoknagar Unit planted around 110 saplings of fruit bearing trees such as mango, jackfruit, chickoo, blueberry, lemon and cashews. There was also interaction with the children of Riya Foundation who were thrilled with the outing. The founders of Riya Foundation appreciated the efforts in enriching the nature with our green initiative. Secretary of Catholic Sabha, Meera Mendonca proposed the vote of thanks. Altogether, it was a well-organized event for a worthy cause.
