Visit to Manasa Special School, Pamboor, Udupi

St. Dominic Church Catholic Sabha Ashoknagar unit organized a visit to Manasa Special School Pamboor, on 27 February 2022. About 50 people including The Parish Priest, The Assistant Parish Priest, Dominican brothers, Superior of St. Josephof Tarbs Convent, Parishioners and Catholic Sabha members, travelled by bus and reached Manasa around 3:30 p.m. The Journey began and concluded with Hymns and Rosary.

Mr. Henry Menezes, President of Manasa Special School extended a cordial welcome. All relished the tea and snacks served at Manasa. A short stage programme was organized by Mr. Henry Menezes to introduce and familiarize the gathering. A floral welcome was accorded by the President of Manasa. Rev.Fr. Daniel Veigas, Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Dileep Veigas Assistant Parish Priest, Sr. Jyothi, Superior of St. Joseph of Tarbs Convent, Mr. Maxim Crasta, Vice-President of Parish Council , Mrs. Noreen Pinto, President of Catholic Sabha Episcopal City Varado, Mangalore and Mr. Winson Dsouza, President of Catholic Sabha Ashoknagar were the dignitaries present on the dias. In their speech Fr. Daniel Veigas, Fr. Dileep Veigas, Mr. Maxim Crasta and Mr. Winson Dsouza appreciated the good work of the Manasa Staff.

All were entertained with songs by the Manasa Special School Children. A video -documentary depicting the life of the inmates of Manasa - the way they were trained to lead a disciplined life and be fit through yoga and exercise in order to enable them to lead a better life in future, was shown to the guests.

Mr. Winson Dsouza, and Mr. Ronald Colaco entertained the children with short humourous skits. One of the Dominican brothers entertained all with his melodious songs.

Advent contribution from St. Dominic Church parishioners, generous personal contribution from the parishioners and members of Catholic Sabha was donated to Manasa Special School. Some the necessary items for daily usage were gifted to the School.

The President of Manasa expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the Parishioners and members of the Catholic Sabha. He prayed for the blessings of the Almighty and assured the prayers of the Special Children on each one present there.

The visit was indeed a fruitful one. The President of Catholic Sabha expressed his thankfulness for the whole hearted support rendered by each and every one for the success of the visit.
