Annual Lenten retreat 2020 for St. Dominic Parishioners

The retreat for the parishioners of St. Dominic Church was organized from the 12th – 15th of March 2020.

Fr. Cyril Lobo from Bondel Parish broke the word of God and preached on God’s love, forgiveness, Reconciliation, Mother Mary, Samaritan woman, superstitious beliefs etc.

Whatever lives they have led in the past, they were called to leave it behind and he prepared them to make a good confession. They have been born with a sinful nature and they sin but their God who so loves always welcomes them in His loving arms and forgets the past, so they too should not dwell on their sins or the past but look towards living a holy life.

The healing session at the end of the retreat with the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament was very effective as they were led to look into their lives and renounce the superstitious beliefs which can affect them in their lives and instead they were encouraged to depend on the love of God and His mighty healing power in their lives.

About 400 parishioners attended the retreat which has enabled them to grow spiritually and lead fruitful lives. The music and singing both from the preacher and musician Mr. Joy helped people to participate in the retreat more spiritually. The blessed bread was offered to people at the end of the retreat.
