Feast of St. Dominic de Guzman Celebration – 2022

The annual feast of St. Dominic De Guzman, Founder of Order of Preachers (Dominicans) and Patron of our Parish was celebrated on 7th August 2022 together with the Dominican Community at Ashoknagar. Preparation for the feast began with Novena prayers from 29th July to 6th August 2022, where the Parishioners received instructions on articles of our catholic faith. The festal theme was “We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church”. Confraternity Sunday was celebrated on 31st July 2022 with half-day recollection guided by Rev. Fr. Vincent Sequeira. On the eve of feast the parish community prayed the vespers together.

On all the days of novena, muddoms were honoured and on the feast day, Muddom, were honoured by Parish Priest and Assistant Parish Priest and the Firgenths were honoured by the main celebrant. Rev. Fr. Benjamin Pinto, Parish Priest of Urwa Church, presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration and preached on the festal theme. Parish Jubilee Choir with their devoted melodious singing guided the faithful to pray. Sisters of St. Joseph of Tarbes, and Dominican Sisters of the Holy Trinity and Mr. Cliffy decorated and prepared the Altar and Sanctuary for Eucharistic celebration. Parish pastoral council conducted the liturgy.
