Free Medical Camp

St. Dominic Church Ashoknagar, Catholic Sabha Ashoknagar Unit, Commission for Health, Commission for Inter Religious Dialogue, Shree Sharadha Pooja Samithi (Reg.) Urva Store, Mangala Friends Circle (Reg.) Urva Store and Father Mullers Medical College Hospital jointly organized a Free Medical Camp on Sunday 6th April, 2025 at Manasa Mantapa, Urva Store from 9 am to 1 pm.

The Camp began by invoking the blessings of the Almighty God through a prayer song by Catholic Sabha office bearers. The President of the Catholic Sabha, Mr. Wilson Pereira welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. Rev Fr Daniel Veigas, the Parish Priest of St. Dominic Church Ashoknagar along with other dignitaries inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp . In his message, he appreciated and conveyed his good wishes to all the organizers and beneficiaries of the health camp. Mr. Maxim Crasta, the Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council spoke on the importance of health and hygiene. Dr Sunaina Bhat, eye specialist from Father Muller Medical College Hospital Mangalore emphasized on vision care and health. The other dignitaries on the dais were Rev Fr Meckenzie Mendonsa, the Assistant Parish Priest of St. Dominic Church, Ashoknagar, Mr. Yashwantha Shetty, the Vice President of Shree Sharadha Pooja Samithi Urva Store, Mr. Ramesh L. Shetty, the President of Mangala Friends Circle Urva Store, Mrs. Meera Mendonca, the Co-ordinator of 21 Commission, and Mr. Stany Victor Mascarenhas, proprietor of Styla Enterprises. Mr. Ronald Colaco, the Convener of the camp, proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Winson Dsouza, the Ex- President of Catholic Sabha compered the programme.

The following facilities like General Medicine, BP & Sugar Test, ECG, Opthalmogy, Pediatrics, Dermatology and Orthopedics were offered during the camp. Around 265 people availed the benefits of this camp. Medicines and 186 spectacles were distributed freely to the needy patients.
