Free Medical Camp on 27.02.2022
St. Dominic Church Ashoknagar, Catholic Sabha Ashoknagar, Shree Sharadha Pooja Samithi Urva Store, Mangala Friends Circle Urva Store and Father Mullers Medical College Hospital jointly organized a Free Medical Camp on Sunday 27 February, 2022 at Manasa Mantapa Urva Store, Mangalore from 9am to 1 pm.
The camp began by invoking the blessings of the Almighty God through a Prayer Song. President of the Catholic Sabha, Ashoknagar Unit Mr. Winson Dsouza welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. Mrs. Noreen Pinto, President of the Catholic Sabha Episcopal City Deanery, Mangaluru Pradesh inaugurated the camp by lighting the lamp along with the other dignitaries on the dias. In her message she conveyed her good wishes to all the participants of the health camp.
Rev. Fr. Daniel Veigas, Parish Priest of Ashoknagar Church presided over the function. In his presidential note he emphasized the need for communal harmony and religious unity among people of all castes and creed. Mr. Maxim Crasta, Vice President of Parish Council also addressed the gathering and spoke on the importance of health and hygiene.
The other dignitaries on the dias were Mr. Udaya Kumar P, President of Shree Sharadha Pooja Samithi Urva Store, Mr. Ramesh L Shetty, President of Mangala Friends Circle Urva Store, Mr. Ganesh Kulal Corporator of Derebail Ward No. 26 and Mr. Prithviraj Marketing Officer of Fr. Mullers College Hospital.
Facilities like General Medicine, BP & Sugar Test, ECG, Opthalmogy - cataract surgery, gynaecology, Dermatology and Orthopedic and were made available to all the participants.
268 people availed the benefits of this camp. 168 spectacles were distributed freely to the needy patients and about 20 cataract patients were referred to Fr. Mullers Hospital for cataract surgery.
The doctors and guests were served delicious breakfast and sumptuous lunch.
The Convenor of the camp and Ex-President of Catholic Sabha Ashoknagar Unit Mr. Ronald Coloco, proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mr. Rajendra, member of Mangala Friends Circle compered the programme.
The entire arrangement of the camp was well organized under the leadership of Catholic Sabha Ashoknagar Unit in coordination with St Dominic Church Inter Religious Commission, Health Commission and Commission for Christian Unity. The conveners and members of these commissions along with catholic Sabha functionaries actively participated in the health camp.
The camp was a grand success.
