Ward Day/Feast – Sacred Heart/Dominic B

The ward day was celebrated by offering a thanks giving mass on the 30th of June 2019 at 8 00 am. Fr Aquin Noronha, the Parish Priest was the main celebrant. He gave an inspiring homily on Sacred Heart of Jesus and how it is important in our lives to follow Jesus and his teachings based on pure, selfless and sincere love. Most of the ward members offered their offerings. The liturgy was carried out by the ward members.

In the evening there was a get together in the Parish hall started at 6 .30 pm. The program was resumed by invoking God’s blessings by a prayer led by Mrs. Ida Pereira. The dignitaries comprised of our Parish Priest Rev Fr. Aquin Noronha, assistant parish priest Rev. Fr. Royston Lobo accompanied by St. Joseph’s Superior Sr. Jyothi, vice president and secretary of our Parish council Mr. Richard Gonsalves and Mr. Isaac Furtado and ward representatives.

Gurkar Mr. Norbert Noronha welcomed all the guests followed by the speeches by the guests. Mrs. Prescila Martis presented the annual ward report. Mrs. Reena Pereira read out the accounts followed by entertainment by the ward children through dancing and singing. Games were conducted by Mr. Paul D'Souza and Rithesh D’silva. Prize distribution was carried out by Fr. Aquin Noronha and Fr. Royston Lobo. Elderly ward members Mr.& Mrs. Lawrence D’Souza and Mrs. Eliza D’cruz were honored by the dignitaries.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Richard D Souza. Everybody enjoyed the grand delicious dinner prepared by m/s Jillu's Caterers, Ashoknagar. MC for the function was Mrs. Laveena Pinto. Beautiful photography was clicked by Mr. Rithesh D'Silva. All the ward members enjoyed the ward day filled with Great Spirit and enthusiasm.
