Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary and Mothers’ Day Celebration - 2023

Feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary- MONTHI FEST on 8 September 2023. The celebration began with procession from Urwa Stores Junction to St. Dominic Church at 7:45 with statue of Infant Mary in a decorated chariot and with flowers, first crops of vegetables and rice sheaves.

Prayers of thanksgiving, blessing of first crops, and offering of flowers was held in front of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes. Solemn Eucharist celebration presided over by Rev. fr. Dominic Mendonsa,OP was held in the Church. All donors of the feast were honoured after the Mass. The faithful savoured the payasam with blessed rice corn. Sugarcane and cake was distributed to everyone.

On same day evening, St. Dominic Association organised Mothers’ day for the women and mothers of the Parish. Mrs. Jovita Serao was the guest of honour. Many activities and games were held to mark the event.
